The Joyful Series is focused on creating healing spaces. Inspired by the natural world and its ability to counterbalance the chaos of everyday life, I use color to evoke contemplative, tranquil, and joyful states—for myself and for the viewer.
“Joyful Muguet” is rooted in a sweet memory from the mid-60s—my mom’s Muguet des Bois splash, tucked in a green bottle on the edge of our pink-tiled bathroom. She’d let me dab a little on after baths, and I’d feel like spring itself, wrapped in the scent of the lily of the valley blooming around our home.
This 30" x 40" acrylic painting is painted a deep lavender along the 1.5” deep sides of the canvas and is wired for hanging.
